I come from a town where family is rich. A town so small, that most wouldn’t know where or what it was if they heard the name. I spent most of my summers as a youth in an even smaller place, yet even richer in family. A place my grandparents called home, Sycamore Canyon, is where my roots come from. A ranch in the middle of nowhere is where I learned the value of family and hard work.

Imagine a place with no heat, but the warmth of a camp fire you and your brother built from a single match and wood gathered from the stack is even better.

Imagine a place with no electricity, only the current of a river flowing through your toes as you fish for your dinner.

Imagine no running water from a faucet, yet running footsteps through the water to get to the well to fetch buckets was very abundant.

A place where breakfast wasn’t served until you chopped the wood for the stove and fetched the eggs away from that mean ol’ rooster!

This is the place, where I come from.
